I am not a reservist. I just got off the phone with DFAS. I will be getting CDRP with retro back to 1 Nov 2011 with no phase in because I am at 100%. The medical retirement was definately much more beneficial than normal retirement. First off, I took the Redux payment at 15. Now it does not apply to me anymore, except that I get 1% lower in my COLA raises. But that is no biggie. Especially when there are no COLA raises usually. But even this resets around age 62. So I get 50% for retirement, 100% VA with full CDRP restoration. My SSDI hearing is on the 20th, I hope that the VA rating will finally convince them. My lawyer seems to think I will get it.
